FUEL AND WATER

For smaller vessels the most simple and cost-effective way to take on fuel and water is to proceed to one of the marinas and use the facilities there. It is advisable to book if you need a lot of fuel. There is also the option of visiting one of the fuel and water barges in Ao Chalong or in Patong. There are three barges operating in Chalong year-round, and in Patong during the high season. One of the barges offers a roaming service and can visit most other places with a surcharge of approximately 8,000 THB for the delivery.

For larger vessels it is essential to use the fuel barges and to order the fuel. The barges will meet with you at most pre-requested places. Please contact a local yacht agent for more information. For vessels over 500 gross tonnes, duty free fuel can be sought within 24hrs of leaving after clearance. You will need to contact a yacht agent to organise it and then proceed to Ao Mackam deepwater port to facilitate this.

In addition, fuel and water can be taken on in Krabi. Water can also be sourced at many of the outlying islands, in particular Phi Phi Don and Racha.
