Marine Guide and Phuket-Marine-Guide.com
is published by Ensign
Media with support from Yacht
Solutions. Both leading companies in their relevant fields,
the project was conceived in early 2003 in the absence of good,
reliable sources of information for visiting sailors. The hard
copy of the guide was launched in September 2003 and continues
to be produced annually. It is distributed free on Phuket Island
and at Immigration, in addition to marinas and key locations
throughout the Southeast Asian region. |

Duncan
Worthington
Managing Director, Footprints Asia
Duncan has been working in Thailand in the tourism and media industries
for the last 7 years. After a number of years in the media field,
Duncan branched out on his own and established Footprints
Asia in late 2002. From the outset, Footprints
Asia has developed a name for producing quality, niche publications.
Duncan
has played a key role in the development of the local regatta scene,
having been involved in the Phang
Nga Bay Regatta for the last 5 years, and the Phuket
King’s Cup Regatta for the last 4 year. Duncan remains
a member of both committees.
A number
of new publishing ventures are planned by Footprints
Asia in 2004.
Gareth
Twist
Managing Director, Yacht Solutions
Gareth Twist started his marine career in the diving industry where
he worked on numerous live-aboard vessels in Asia and the Red Sea,
and gained the rating of PADI Course Director in 1997. He redesigned
and managed the sports diver section of Fort Bovisand when it operated
as the largest dive centre in Europe. Gareth’s love for boats
took him away from his diving career and he spent a number of years
delivering yachts and working with charter companies around the
world. This lead to the inception of Yacht
Solutions which he has been successfully operating from Phuket
since 2001.
Gareth’s
marine experience led to the creation of the Andaman
Sea Rally – a rally for sail and power boats from Phuket
to the Andaman Islands in India, and back – in 2003.
